In business for twenty-one years, Owl Talk Clothing was recently mentioned on Vouge.com as one of the five favorite “Vintage Shopping Destinations” in Los Angeles, by Indie band singer Bethany Cosentino of “Best Coast”When the Resale / Vintage clothing store Owl Talk opened in 1994, the owners, Kathleen & Sharon Kroner, envisioned a place that women of all ages could shop at, including mothers and daughters. Taking in gently used contemporary item’s on a consignment basis, mixing them in with carefully selected vintage pieces, and sprinkling in new trendy item’s  has given this shop a  long lease in the retail world during a shaky economy. Both shop owners / sisters have studied Fashion and Retail Merchandising in Los Angeles, with Sharon graduating from “Otis / Parsons” in the early nineties, and Kathleen studying Retail Merchandising at “Los Angeles Trade Technical”.

vouge4In mid April Indie band singer Bethany Cosentino, from the  band “Best Coast” was interviewed

by Alex Frank for Vouge.com about her favorite vintage shopping destinations in Los Angeles and named “Owl Talk Clothing” as one of her five favorite places, specifically mentioning her love of small local businesses, and the fact that Owl Talk has been in Eagle Rock since 1994, selling everything from vintage nineties dresses, and Art Deco style jewelry. At Owl Talk clothing, we are thrilled and feel honored to be mentioned in what many consider to be the bible of fashion followers. Launched in 1892, Vouge was originally a magazine that kept it’s focus on the antics of high society and featured illustrations of mainly European fashions, and information on where they could be purchased, created by Arthur Baldwin Turnure. Conde Nast purchased the magazine in 1909, and began to turn it into the fashion bible of today. Below are some of our favorite covers. Enjoy!
