Hello Dear Readers…welcome to “The Diary 1928″, a real and complete handwritten journal by a lovely young seventeen year old  at the start of 1928,
as she embarks on heading off to college up in Northern California. This real and actual diary was purchased at a Tag Sale several years back, and is a real
piece of Los Angeles history as the writer shares her experiences about dating, dances, locations, and heading off to college for the very first time. Enjoy!

Well, I guess my term as President of the “West Ridge Student Body” is passe’. That is, next week when the new officers come in, I go out_ I certainly must have made some ( sarcastic) success of it, since my own class didn’t even nominate me for counselor again. I really think, though, that a good part of the student body would like to see me in again_ at least that is what I guess from popular opinion; Who cares though!  I just hope that the next President can hold that bunch of girls down. If it’s Ardie, she can do it easily.

Poor Louise!  She certainly is getting herself in trouble grabbing other people’s boyfriends! She seems to have gone far enough, and everyone is turning now. She ( Louise) is trying to interfere with Eleanor **** beau, Leo, and with Ruth’s boyfriend Ben****. I’m afraid that she has rather ruined a lovely friendship ( nay-ever-more) between the two- she claims she also cares for Ben & hence has a right to him. What  girl… be she ever so beautiful, could compete with Louise’s undefinable magnetism? She certainly holds a selfish love for Ben, though if any.
